Model limits

Today's purchase price is the market anchor. The calculator models only the relative value change from the vehicle's current age. Loan principal is not counted as a cost; only interest incurred during ownership is included. Results are before tax and are not purchase or market advice.

Modelled depreciation is the largest cost component under these assumptions.

Frequently asked questions

What does total ownership cost include?

Modelled depreciation, interest, energy, insurance, tax and the entered recurring and optional costs.

Why is the loan payment not monthly TCO?

It includes principal repayment. The model uses depreciation and interest so purchase price is not counted twice.

What does mileage cost equality mean?

It is the annual mileage at which both vehicles would have the same modelled total cost under the entered assumptions.
