FREETOOLS LABS

Privacy Policy

14 August 2026

1. Data controller

The controller of the personal data processing carried out in connection with FreeTools Labs is:

Christian KUNZ – Sole trader (EI)

61 Rue de Lyon

75012 Paris

France

Email: support@freetools-labs.com

2. General principles and data minimisation

FreeTools Labs is designed according to a principle of data minimisation.

The publicly available tools and calculators can be used without creating an account.

Unless otherwise indicated in a specific tool, values entered into calculators are processed locally in the user's browser. They are not transmitted to the FreeTools Labs server and are not stored by FreeTools Labs in a personal database.

FreeTools Labs does not sell its users' personal data.

3. Technical data and server logs

When FreeTools Labs is accessed, the server automatically processes certain technical data necessary for transmitting the website, its operation, error diagnosis and infrastructure security.

This data may include, in particular, the IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested resource, the HTTP response code, the browser type and version, technical information relating to the system or device and, where applicable, the referring page.

This data is processed to ensure the availability and security of the service, detect errors, prevent abusive access, attacks and intrusion attempts, and enable the analysis of technical or security incidents.

The processing is based on FreeTools Labs' legitimate interest in providing and protecting a reliable and secure online service, pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Technical server logs are rotated daily and retained for a maximum period of 14 days. At the end of that period, they are automatically deleted or overwritten as part of the normal rotation.

Retention beyond 14 days occurs only exceptionally where necessary to document, analyse or defend against a specific security incident, comply with a legal obligation, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

4. Hosting

FreeTools Labs is hosted by:

Hetzner Online GmbH

Industriestr. 25

91710 Gunzenhausen

Germany

As part of technical hosting, Hetzner may process the data necessary for the provision, availability and security of the infrastructure.

5. Use of tools and calculators

Unless otherwise indicated, data entered into FreeTools Labs' free tools is used only on the user's device to perform the requested calculation or processing.

FreeTools Labs does not use these entries to create a personal profile, establish user categories or individually track the use of calculators.

Where a tool uses the browser's local storage to retain a preference, setting or technical state, that information remains on the user's device unless otherwise indicated.

6. Cookies, local storage and consent management

FreeTools Labs may use cookies or other local storage mechanisms strictly necessary for the operation of the website, in particular to remember technical preferences or the user's privacy choice.

Cookies, identifiers or other trackers that are not strictly necessary, especially those used for advertising, personalisation or advertising measurement, are activated only where applicable legal conditions are met.

For users in the European Economic Area and, where applicable, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, FreeTools Labs uses or will use a consent-management platform compatible with the requirements applicable to Google AdSense.

No consent or preference centre is integrated in the currently published app code, and the application does not currently load AdSense or CMP services. If consent-dependent advertising or third-party services are activated in the future, the required consent and withdrawal options will be provided with that runtime and this policy will be updated accordingly.

7. Google AdSense and advertising

FreeTools Labs uses or may use Google AdSense to finance the service through the display of advertisements.

In connection with advertising delivery, Google and selected advertising partners may collect, receive, store or process certain information relating to the device and use of the website.

Depending on the type of advertising, the chosen settings and the user's consent, this information may include the IP address, browser and device information, browser language, date and time of the request, cookie identifiers or other identifiers, information relating to the page viewed, the advertisement displayed and interactions with it, as well as approximate location information derived in particular from the IP address.

Google and its partners may use cookies, local storage technologies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers in providing advertising services.

These technologies may in particular be used to select and deliver advertisements, measure their delivery and performance, create aggregated reports, limit the number of times the same advertisement is shown, detect and prevent fraud, invalid clicks and abuse, ensure system security and, where the user has consented, personalise advertisements based on previous information or activities.

Personalised advertisements may be selected in particular based on prior activities, estimated interests, demographic or location information and other signals permitted by the user's choice.

Non-personalised advertisements are not based on the user's prior behaviour for advertising targeting. They may nevertheless use contextual information such as page content or approximate location. Cookies or identifiers may still be used in particular for frequency capping, measurement, security and advertising reports where applicable rules permit.

Where the user does not give consent to advertising purposes that require it, no non-essential advertising technology requiring that consent must be activated by FreeTools Labs. Depending on the configuration and features available from Google, limited ads may possibly be delivered.

Google may place or read cookies from different domains associated with its advertising services, including google.com, doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com or googleadservices.com.

The current list of advertising partners and the purposes offered to the user are displayed in the consent-management platform when required.

Retention periods applied directly by Google or other advertising partners are not determined by the 14-day rotation of FreeTools Labs logs. They are governed by those providers' own policies and settings.

8. Legal basis for advertising processing

Where advertising processing or the use of a tracker requires the user's consent, that processing is based on that consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the rules applicable to cookies and other trackers.

For certain purposes indicated in the consent-management platform, certain advertising partners may rely on another legal basis provided for by the GDPR, in particular legitimate interest.

If consent-dependent advertising processing or a tracker is activated in the future, the required consent and withdrawal options will be provided with the corresponding runtime.

9. Google and advertising partners

Google is among the recipients of data when Google AdSense is used.

Other advertising-technology providers may also receive data where their participation in advertising delivery has been configured and applicable legal conditions are met.

Where required, FreeTools Labs allows the user to view the relevant advertising partners and the purposes for which they request consent or rely on another legal basis.

10. Data transfers outside the European Economic Area

In connection with Google AdSense or other technical services, certain data may be processed or made accessible from countries outside the European Economic Area.

Where an international transfer is subject to the GDPR, it must be based on a mechanism recognised by applicable legislation, such as an adequacy decision of the European Commission or appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses.

Additional information on transfers made by Google is described in Google's documentation and privacy policy.

11. Audience measurement

FreeTools Labs currently does not use a third-party service separate from Google AdSense to individually track visitors for audience-analysis purposes.

Statistical or advertising-performance data produced in connection with Google AdSense may nevertheless be processed by Google in accordance with consent choices, advertising settings and applicable rules.

If a separate audience-analysis service is added later, this policy will be updated and the necessary consent mechanisms will be applied.

12. Contact by email

When a user contacts FreeTools Labs by email, the information contained in their message and their contact details are processed to answer their request.

Depending on the nature of the request, processing may be based on the performance of pre-contractual or contractual measures, a legal obligation, or FreeTools Labs' legitimate interest in handling requests addressed to it.

Email messages are not subject to the 14-day rotation of technical server logs. They are retained for the time necessary to process the request and then, if necessary, for the period required to comply with a legal obligation or enable the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

13. Recipients and no sale of data

FreeTools Labs does not sell users' personal data.

Data is accessible only to persons or service providers who need it to provide, host, secure, administer or finance the service, or where disclosure is required by law.

Depending on the features actually used, recipients may include in particular the host Hetzner, Google and selected advertising partners, as well as legally authorised authorities or bodies.

14. Data subject rights

In accordance with the GDPR and subject to the conditions it provides for, each data subject may in particular have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and, where applicable, data portability.

Where processing is based on consent, that consent may be withdrawn at any time.

Requests relating to processing carried out directly by FreeTools Labs may be sent to: support@freetools-labs.com

Proof of identity will be requested only where necessary to verify the applicant's identity and prevent an unauthorised person from accessing personal data.

15. Complaint to the CNIL

Any person who considers that the processing of their personal data does not comply with applicable legislation may lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL).

16. Security

FreeTools Labs implements technical and organisational measures intended to protect systems and data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, destruction or unauthorised disclosure.

These measures are adapted according to the nature of the processing, the state of the art and the identified risks.

17. Changes to the Privacy Policy

This policy may be amended when FreeTools Labs features, service providers used, data processing, advertising technologies or legal and regulatory requirements evolve.

The date of the last update is indicated at the beginning of the document.
