How the concrete requirement is calculated
The geometry is first converted to cubic meters and multiplied by quantity. Reserve is then added. Ready-mix remains a volume order. Bagged concrete is calculated separately from the product yield and full bags are always rounded up. This tool does not calculate structural design, reinforcement or a cement/sand/gravel recipe.
Yield varies by product. Use the value printed on the bag or in the manufacturer's technical data sheet whenever possible.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the calculator need product yield?
Finished concrete volume cannot be reliably converted to dry-mix kilograms using concrete density.
Is 1 m³ of concrete equal to 1000 kg?
No. Cubic meters measure volume and kilograms measure mass; dry mix is determined from product yield.
Why are bags rounded up?
Concrete is sold in whole bags, so the calculated count is rounded upward.
Can I calculate stairs?
Yes. Identical solid steps are summed as a stepped cross-section.
Does it calculate cement, sand and gravel?
No. It calculates finished bagged mix or ready-mix quantity only.
